Call it impromptu wants. I initially timed myself to only be at the store for less than an hour and when I got home, Triz exclaimed I did an excellent job for having bought so many stuff in just a short time that I was gone. Lol.

This afternoon, one of the mails I got was a box from Aeropostale. The contents? Some summer shirts that I also shopped online last weekend using a coupon that saved me lots.  Two shirts for the husband and three for me.

Summer shirts are now ready here in my closet! I can only wish that the warm temperatures shall remain every day for us.

Have you experienced renting a car during your vacation? Nowadays, such is the trend. And it is one good, efficient, and convenient trend that I am thankful to be enjoying life right now with the accessibility and availability of car rentals. My very first car rental experience was when I was still new here in the US over 8 years ago and we took a long drive from Illinois to Florida. There were four of us so flying would be a bit more expensive. Driving was the most voted option plus we all wanted to stop by the different states that we can pass through so it was a wonderful experience.

Car rental is a very convenient choice. When you fly to your destination, arriving at the airport with a car waiting for you which is a part of your itinerary just makes your vacation or business trip a lot smoother and not stressful at all. Even when we flew to our home country two years ago, we also rented a car to get to so many places conveniently. It worked wonderful and on our next vacation, I can see ourselves still doing it since we don’t have our own vehicle back there.

As for our upcoming trip in the summer, the husband and I are still weighing the decision whether to use our own minivan or to rent a car. We are safe with our own vehicle insurance-wise, but we would be a lot safer with a rented car since coverage while we are on the road is guaranteed the whole time we are on a car lease. We are taking a long road trip to the Northeast so it is a major decision that we will be spending time with discussing. Whatever it is that we can come up with, I am sure it will be for the entire safety and enjoyment of our family.

Well, that’s our neighbor’s vehicle that always catches attention. Lol. For one, I adore that it’s white. Secondly, the husband and I always talk about how expensive its gas maintenance is and that, we will never get ourselves such car. Ha ha ha. I am glad I am still able to take a picture of one even if we don’t own one. Lol.

Anyway, the warmer days are here in our place and it is our little Tiara’s perfec moment every time we bring her outside and maneuver her walker in our garage/parking area. It is a good way to tire her out, but always, she acts up whenever it is time to bring her in. Thank God for the warmer days we have!

I call her Yaya Dhay simply because she was my babysitter/nanny when I was little. She was my number one supporter and confidante when I was growing up and she trusts me with all of her plans and financial aspects. She and my husband knew each other even before I knew him because they were fellow choir members. It was so funny when she learned that Jonathan, who then was my suitor, was courting me. She cautioned me right away that we are not ‘bagay’ because he was already a professional and I was just starting college. When she learned that I already accepted him, she realized that her friend was serious and then she trusted me. Fast-forward to now, they have remained to be friends with deep respect to each other.

Anyway, on her very birthday, she said there’s nothing to celebrate except thanking God for all the blessings. It’s a work day for her so she has to get up and face the real world. She is in Japan right now working as an Interpreter and an advertising agent for three local newspapers in Fukuoka. Her husband and daughter are in Philippines so yeah, there isn’t really a need to celebrate as she is just alone in her abode. She has friends and co-workers though so I think there’ll be some treats later.

We chatted this morning when I got up and shared each other’s plans, like we always do. She was so delighted to know that we are planning to go home next year. Hopefully, we will push through so that we will be reunited once again. We sure missed our countless dates and night outs as sisters.

Happy Birthday, Yaya! I’m posting this so that I have something to look back 5 or 10 years from now when your 37th birthday took place.

My firstborn though asked me one day if a mothers day necklace would be something that I’d be happy to receive.

She assured me that she won’t buy one as she knew I wouldn’t want her to spend, but she could make one using the set of jewelry beads that I bought for her as her craft materials. It made me feel excited knowing that she has been thinking of a Mother’s Day present all along even if it’s still two months to go.

I sure am blessed with a thoughtful and sweet daughter!

A pack of 30 AA batteries for only $6 plus free shipping? Why not! It’s not branded, but I trust that it can do what it’s supposed to do so we will see.

There are a few things in life we can never have too much or too many of. Batteries fall into that category. Almost every device, every gadget needs batteries to keep them going. Here in my household, AA batteries are a must-have because of the electronic devices of my daughters. Also, just in case of power outage (which we have never experienced yet here in our residency), these batteries can make our flash lights work, too. And of course, they’ll be great for low energy consuming devices such as remote controls and clocks.

I actually thought a pack of 30 batteries for only $6 is not bad! What do you think? Got it from my favorite flash deals store!

I asked my daughter if she wants something for a treat because I was so happy with the grades she got for the Third Quarter and I didn’t expect what she said she wanted. A set of pearl drums! And then later told me she was just kidding, but would take it if I’ll get it for her for reals! Lol. This girl is hilarious! I mean, I know that she is into music a lot and that she is so excited for her upcoming music lesson, but to express her desire to also play the drums along with playing the piano and the violin and guitar is just too much! It’s kind of amazing though if ever she is serious with her attitude of developing more her musicality. Don’t you think so?

I have started my first round of Spring Cleaning after seeing my dusty purses in the dark corner where my dresses are hanged. I realized how much of a hoarder I am of bags and it’s NOT good at all! I had to take them out one by one, open the inside, and was even able to recover a few bills and lots of coins plus a lot of extra accessories in them. Geee, I definitely am a bagaholic!

Now, I have these over 10 pieces of bags to get rid of. My balikbayan box is so ready for them and hopefully, they can be useful to my sisters, nieces, and relatives back home.

Goodbye bags! No more hoarding for 2013! Lol.

I told my sister that if nobody wants these, she can sell it and we could divide the gross. LOL. They are mostly in mint condition and most of them are Guess, TH, Playboy, Mudd, there’s a CK, a JLo, a Fendi given by my older sister which I don’t like (lol), etc. Sorry, I can’t let go of my COACH and a few more from my fave brands just yet. LOL.

The husband though has predicted what’s to come next. That after getting rid of these, I’ll still be buying for a new one or two especially if I can see a price that has really plunged down. Indeed, my husband knows his shopaholic wife so well! Haha!

So now I somehow have a tedious job to do. I’ll aim to do the actual shipping on the last week of this month since it is Spring Break so I will have over a week of packing up. Good luck to me! Let’s see where my packing power will take me! LOL.

Meanwhile, a high school friend of mine has just emigrated here in the US and she has crafts and hobbies that she is pursuing right now. She makes handicraft resources and actually sell them. Maybe she will be delighted to know about an affordable business card printing. It could be a good marketing strategy as she starts her small business.

When I saw a green colored throw pillow cover at the Dollar Store, I didn’t hesitate to buy five of them. I thought they will be perfect in our couch. Sure enough, they look just absolutely nice, as how I wanted it.

Now all I can say is, if only winter won’t stay for long. I really want for Spring and Summer to be here already so that I can open our windows and let the fresh air get in!

I’m sure learning to play the trombone is just like taking lessons in learning to play other instruments. For now, learning to play the piano is our main focus. We have a lesson scheduled for her already but she won’t start until Spring.

How about your kids? Are they interested to play any musical instruments as well?

It is absolutely a saver! For just a day of being out, I need not bring with me a can or tub of powdered formula because this dispenser does what I simply needed.

Three stuffed toys for Jon’s girls

I intentionally went to Walgreens a day after February 14 because I knew that every Valentine’ stuff will be displayed on sale. Sure enough, I got these loveys at 50% off. The candies and chocolates were so tempting but I retreated getting some in. Chocolates are not part of our cravings at all. I bought the husband a shorts on clearance as well so it was pretty much a practical and smart Valentine’s shopping.

I enjoyed seeing my daughters enjoying these stuffed toys. They’re good additions to Ate Triz’s collections.

My 50th of the 365 BPC

I have my own choices for a bathroom vanity. Here in our current apartment unit, we only have one bathroom so we don’t need lots of vanities. However, I am taking a peek at these bathroom vanities from qualitybath.com because I am bookmarking their description pages so that when it’s time for us to move to our own home someday, I can look at these vanities again and then decide if I still want them or not.

A bathroom vanity always adds a great feel to one’s bathroom. Which style and finish do you prefer the most? I love a modern style with a stone finish. Can you picture that out?

She has been wishing for one for a long time now but I was just delaying my purchase as I didn’t want to spend over $20 for it. I am glad I caught one today that’s below that price; thanks to 6pm alert that arrives in my inbox every day!

Let’s see if she’ll wear this even on a winter. I think she still can. It is waterproof and the textile lining will keep her feet warm.It has a rubber outsole which I think is skid-resistant so this will be fine even with the snowy ground we have here, don’t you think?

My daughter was fascinated as much as I was while at the store. You see, as a family that’s a lover of music, you can understand why even just musical instruments are already fascinating to us. The next thing I want to see on my next visit to the store if my daughter taking up piano lessons already.

As for the speaker, I am reminded of my husband’s desire to buy one. I should let him check out this page that I have been seeing for days now.
