Well, we managed to make our Spring break trip an educational one by making a side trip to the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site in La Porte, Texas. Of course, our Social Studies lover 5th grader was ecstatic!

The monument is awesome, the museum is definitely very historic for us who are new to Texas, and the battleship was mesmerizing. It was worth the side trip definitely as my daughter had a lot to tell in her class when school resumed after a week of break.

I love family travels for pleasure and for educational purposes as well. As learners, there is always something to discover and enjoy at the same time learn all with the expense of time and money. But like I have said, it is worth it in the end.

Has anyone heard of les paus brand for an electric guitar? This epiphone les paul custom available at Musicians Friend is a head-turner just by its looks! Seriously, I am not a guitarist myself but just seeing how this guitar looks like in the picture and with its considerably high price because of its good quality, I can already imagine how good-sounding it truly is. My 10 years old is very funny! She asked me if she can join in a children’s band at school and play an electric guitar once she can master guitar playing and who am I to stop her interest, right? I told her to work on her music learning and to just keep playing and practicing and she will get there.
